Forum-Dimensions Editorial Guidelines and Submission Policy for Press Releases
Forum-Dimensions reviews all requests for press releases before publishing them on our platforms. The review process enables the Editorial Board to ensure the newsworthiness, accuracy, clarity, completeness, and objectivity of the content. To expedite the approval and ensure the distribution of your press release, please adhere to these Editorial Guidelines and Submission Policy.
I. CRITERIA
Criterion | Description |
---|---|
Newsworthiness | The press release should be about an event or announcement that is of interest to the public and the media. We do not accept press releases that aim to promote or endorse any particular product, service, or political party. |
Accuracy | All press releases submitted to the Publication should be accurate and factual. This means that the content must be free of errors in grammar and spelling. It is the responsibility of the press release provider to carefully examine the content of the press release before submission. |
Clarity | The press release should be clear, concise, and easy to understand. This is to ensure that the message is communicated effectively and will help keep the reader's attention. |
Completeness | All of the important details about the event should be included in the press release. The content must cover the five W's: who, what, when, where, and why. Make sure that the name of the person or organization submitting the press release is mentioned, including their phone number or email address. Failure to meet this criterion means that the press release will be ineligible for publication. |
Objectivity | The language used in the press release should be objective. Refrain from using language that is offensive or discriminatory. Moreover, the use of exclamation points, exaggerations, and words such as “I” and “you” are not encouraged to ensure the credibility of the press release. |
II. FORMATTING RECOMMENDATIONS
- Submit your press release as a Word document file.
- Use a professional and easy-to-read font, such as Arial or Times New Roman, in 12 pt.
- The text must be single-spaced and a blank line must be placed in between paragraphs.
- Keep the press release concise and focused, typically no more than one page.
- Include relevant hyperlinks within the text to direct readers to additional resources or related content.
- To indicate the end of the press release, use the traditional “###” symbol centered on a separate line.
III. SUBMISSION
- The representative of the organization should submit the letter of request along with the press release details and materials to fd@wvsu.edu.ph or any staff member of the Publication. The request should be addressed to the Editor-in-Chief: NOVE JOY S. LOSBAĂ‘ES
- The representative is also requested to provide any additional information or specific requests to the Publication. For example, they may specify the preferred distribution method and timing for the press release. It is possible to request that the press release be exclusively posted on the Publication's official Facebook page.
IV. APPROVAL
- The press release will be assessed by the Editorial Board based on the criteria specified in the “Criteria” section of this document and adherence to the formatting recommendations and submission guidelines.
- Upon approval, the representative of the organization will be notified via email.
- The Publication has the right to refuse the request for any press release upon failure of the submitting organization to adhere to the prescribed submission guidelines and policies. The representative of the organization will also be notified of this via email along with the details concerning ineligibility.
V. DISTRIBUTION
- The Publication holds the discretion in determining which social media platforms the press release will be distributed on unless otherwise specified by the representative of the organization in their request, as stipulated in the “Submission” section of this document.
- The Publication shall not be held liable for any errors or inaccuracies present in press releases that are beyond our control.
